On December 6, with the sound of long whistles, a China-Europe train loaded with electronic information, light industrial products and other goods slowly drove out of Chongqing, marking the official departure of Chongqing's first China-Europe train in the Middle Corridor since the Chengdu-Chongqing Center of the Middle Corridor was officially established on the 5th of this month. This train will pass through the Middle Corridor, through Turkey, and eventually arrive in European countries such as Hungary and Germany. The Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, is a multimodal transport channel that integrates rail and sea transport. It spans the Eurasian continent. Compared with traditional sea routes, the Middle Corridor not only has a shorter route, but also significantly improves the overall controllability and reliability of transportation. The corridor connects Azerbaijan and Georgia through Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea, and then reaches Europe via Turkey or across the Black Sea, opening up a new rail-sea combined transport trade channel for China to Europe.
